Here in Bavaria we often use the term “Haftlmacher”.

'Haftl' - which comes from 'heften' - are actually little hooks that used to be laboriously made and used on clothing instead of buttons.

With the basting threads made of tear-resistant cotton, you can fix hems and seams in no time so that your cut pieces do not slip when sewing.

And when your creative product is finished, the basting seam can be easily removed.
